Overview

Synopsis

Til the End of the Day is a character-driven Western that mixes the genre's obsession with the last frontier and redemption through violence with black humour, pulp sci-fi elements, road movie existentialism and an art rock soundtrack. At the end of the century, 2 gunslingers learn of a mad scientist’s plot to wipe out humanity and replace it with his Master Race. With enemies on both sides of the law in hot pursuit, they team up with the scientist’s knife-throwing daughter and head out to stop him. Set and filmed in Saskatchewan, it will feature some of the more unique geography of the province as backdrop for the imminent Apocalypse.

The European fascination with the wild west, cowboys and indians etc. is enough of a topic to turn into a movie. This seems to be a quirky take on the whole thing... but if the movie is anything like the trailer though, the VHS cassette wouldn't be at the top of my pile.

The interview does not work as something to grab the viewer. The shots from the film are interesting however. You just need something that's going to entice the viewer to want to see the film, either dialogue from the movie, voice over, or a combination.

I'm not sure I get what this film is supposed to be about. Are you doing an interview about a movie you've already shot? I'm confused.

Gotta say, if that's genuine Super 16mm, I love the texture and grit of the image, fits the western genre perfectly. That being said, the on-the-couch segments completely fall apart...poorly shot, sub-standard sound. I'd much prefer just focusing on the film through a well-crafted trailer.

This trailer comes off as somewhat pompous/self indulgent. A selected scene(s) from the film would better captivate the audience and speak much more as to the quality, content and create intrigue. Sorry, I'm really not sold on this.

That was an odd trailer.... not sure what the point of the 'french' people was as it appears none of the team is actually French.
Also, the synopsis sounds interesting (though I have yet to see a western mixed with sci-fi or horror that works), and I would have liked to have seen more of what was described there in the trailer.
I am big western fan, and liked the look of the footage you showed in the 'trailer'.... makes me wish you were just shooting a straight western.

I want to love this so badly. I really, honestly, want to see a cool Sci-fi Western. But the trailer doesn't show any sci-fi, and the mockumentary angle (of which I had no idea until I read about it in the comments) should so NOT be in the movie at all. This score if because you put 2 words I like together, and that this pitch is so weird makes me believe you can be crazy, "out-there" weird (on some level) and give this movie a bizarre, interesting spin.

I'm going to watchlist this film. Please please please, make me love you in the mission videos.

This is clearly a mockumentary type trailer poking fun at, well, a lot of things. I should know -- I'm the drawling Aussie guy asking the scripted questions lol.

The cinematographer of the project is actually the guy being interviewed, pretending to be a french auteur (or something to that effect lol -- hi Alain!). The actual director of the film was operating the camera.

I'm sorry that this concept has gone over a lot of people's heads. But I loved making it with such great people and sadly if one tries to do something different or from left field they'll always cop some flak for it. I'm a full supporter of the project and miss you guys, like, 'heaps'. ;)

Love

This trailer might have worked better as your pitch. Here you just come off as a bit of a jerk. Where most of the other trailers have given me even the tiniest glimmer of hope, your's makes me feel as though you have no idea what you're doing. I suggest you adhere to "Show don't tell." and actually create a trailer show casing your talent, instead of acting like an ass on camera.

I like the aesthetic and filmic quality of the few shots you do show us, but you essentially tell us nothing about the film or story in the "trailer", and that lack of storytelling ability coupled with the poor sound quality, seem to be red flags about the quality of the final product. I wish you either showed us more and let the work speak for itself, or let us in on the joke, but the vague trailer here feels like no man's land.
